Sijie Ren

Sijie Ren is a doctoral researcher for the faculty of business administration at the Université Laval, focusing on cross-cultural management and the integration of immigrant employees. She is a recipient of the Canada Graduate Scholarship—Doctoral Program (SSHRC CGS D, 2024-2027), funded by SSHRC. Her research interests centre on how global governance, digital transformation and organizational practices—including the use of artificial intelligence and digital applications—shape human mobility, equity and sustainable development. She holds a master’s degree in international studies and has extensive professional experience across academic, public and private sectors in Canada and abroad.

Drawing on an interdisciplinary academic background that began in engineering and biotechnology before expanding into economics, accounting, international relations and management, Ms. Ren combines the analytical rigor of STEM disciplines with perspectives from the social sciences to address complex challenges related to migration and the social and professional integration of immigrants.

Ms. Ren has contributed to a number of research projects on immigrant integration, information systems, international management and public consultation. She has presented her research at major international conferences, including the Academy of Management (AOM), the Academy of International Business (AIB), the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) and Acfas. Her work has also been published in several high-quality academic journals.

In 2026, her research was nominated for a Carolyn B. Dexter Award by the Communication, Digital Technology, and Organization (CTO) Division at the AOM annual meeting. She also received the Best Paper Award (Information Systems Division) at the 2026 ASAC Annual Conference.
