The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) are pleased to announce the renewal and expansion of the Housing Research Scholarship Program joint initiative.
Since 2018, SSHRC has partnered with the CMHC to offer postdoctoral fellowships through the Housing Research Scholarship Program joint initiative, which fosters links between research in social sciences and humanities and key governmental priorities related to housing. The program is part of the Government of Canada’s National Housing Strategy and will help enhance research, data and knowledge creation, collaboration, capacity building, and knowledge translation of housing-related research in Canada.
In addition to the initiative’s established focus on postdoctoral fellows, it will also offer support to eligible master’s and doctoral students conducting research in areas related to housing, if funds allow. Students will be able to apply directly for the initiative through SSHRC’s existing application processes for the Canada Graduate Scholarships – Master’s program, Canada Graduate Scholarships – Doctoral program and SSHRC Doctoral Awards competitions.
