To better address the short-term needs of researchers and institutions, SSHRC is launching a Partnership Engage Grant in June 2017. Valued between $7,000 and $25,000, this grant will require only one partner and will be available four times a year.
The first deadline to apply is September 15, 2017, and successful applicants will be notified in December 2017. Find out more about this funding opportunity

To honour the country's 150th anniversary, the Government of Canada is investing $117.6 million over eight years for the new Canada 150 Research Chairs Program. The program will create approximately 25 research chairs to attract top international researchers to Canada to further knowledge in the sciences, technology, health, engineering and the social sciences and humanities.

Panel of experts provides roadmap to strengthening Canadian research
The Advisory Panel on Federal Support for Fundamental Science, chaired by David Naylor, has released a final report on its review of federal science funding. The report provides a framework for long-term, globally competitive re-investment in Canada's research environment. Read the report for more information on its findings and recommendations.
